Instructor Biography
My name is Rahman Qazvini, and I have been immersed in the world of traditional Iranian music since 2005, beginning with learning the Tar and Setar. After completing foundational, intermediate, and advanced training in Setar, I also explored Setar-making. However, due to health issues, I shifted my focus to performance and theoretical studies.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Iranian Instrument Performance and have since dedicated myself to teaching, after years of honing my craft. I founded the ensemble “Zamzemeh Mahtab,” leading live performances at notable venues such as Rudaki Hall, Andisheh Hall, and Arasbaran Hall. I have also performed solo improvisations in honor of the renowned poet Houshang Irani.
Now, I share my passion for music through teaching, where I guide students from the basics of reading notes to advanced Setar and Tar techniques. My goal is to inspire the next generation of musicians while passing down the rich heritage of traditional Iranian music.
