Background and Education
Mohammad Reza Amirghasemi, born in 1979 in Tehran, Iran, grew up in an art-loving family. His musical journey began with piano lessons under Sepideh Ankeshafi and continued with Ardshir Rouhani. He further deepened his knowledge of classical and Iranian music theory with Farhad Fakhreddini. Mohammad Reza holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, having benefitted from the guidance of esteemed mentors such as Vartan Sahakian, Amir Sarraf, Dr. Amir Ashraf Aryanpour, and Ahmad Pejman.
Professional Development and Teaching
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Mohammad Reza enriched his expertise by participating in numerous masterclasses and workshops on orchestral conducting, piano, and music education. As an instructor, he specializes in teaching piano and music theory, including subjects like harmony and counterpoint.
Artistic Contributions
In 2013, he founded the “Barf” group, with which he has organized and performed in numerous concerts. His artistic output includes several acclaimed albums, such as “Naghsh-e Zendegi” (The Role of Life), “Biganenavaz” (The Stranger’s Melody), “Fardahaye Roshan” (Bright Tomorrows), “Delbang,” and “Ghabhaye Khali” (Empty Frames).
Compositions and Memberships
Mohammad Reza’s compositions include notable works like “Siavash, the Son of Pars” for orchestra, “Winter’s Dream,” “Landscapes of Iran,” and “Rhapsody for Piano and Orchestra.” He is a distinguished member of the Classical Musicians’ Association at the Iranian Music House and has an impressive record of producing over 160 specialized classical music programs for radio. His contributions to the field of music are a testament to his dedication and passion for the art.
